Six Grade One Bands will attend the National Pipe Band Championships in Timaru, with the inclusion of the Queensland Highlanders and the Western Australian Police Pipe Band (WAPOL). These bands join Auckland and District, Manawatu Scottish, Canterbury Caledonian and the New Zealand Police in the Premier Contest (more…)

Auckland and District have taken out the second major Grade 1 contest of the season, putting Canterbury Caledonian into second place, and Manawatu into third. Manawatu have won the contest for the past 9 years. Canterbury also claimed the Drumming and the Ensemble prize. (more…)

City of Invercargill, South Canterbury Highland and Mataura took top honours at the South Canterbury Championships, held in Timaru on Sunday.

Katie Lawton was the victor in the B Grade at the Victoria Square Solos on Saturday Morning, winning the B Grade MSR ahead of George McEwan.

The Canterbury Caledonian Society Pipe Band today won both the MSR and Medley at the Victoria Square Contest, taking the Piping, Ensemble and Drumming. (more…)
