The 2014 National Pipe Band Championships

Tauranga 2014 will be huge. There is no doubt this is the most anticipated contest in a long time. 6 bands will make up the grade one final, with the Queensland Highlanders making the journey to New Zealand to compete against the New Zealand Police, Manawatu Scottish, Auckland and District, ILT City of Invercargill, and the defending National Champions the Canterbury Caledonian Society Pipe Band.

Also in consideration:

• 2014 World Pipe Band Championships
  Will Field Marshal Montgomery make it 4 in a row? Will they back up their drumming prize? Or will some other band come in for the kill and take one, or both? The World Pipe Band Championships in 2014 is, like the NZ Championships, going to be a hum-dinger of an event.
