Easton sweeps Queens Birthday contest

Stuart Easton swept up three firsts to take the A Grade/Open aggregate prize at Dunedin on the weekend. Greg Wilson was the runner up, winning the Piobaireachd and two 2/4 Marches.

Wilson and Switalla enjoy wins at Hastings

Greg Wilson and Brian Switalla both enjoyed significant wins at the annual Hastings Highland Games in the weekend. The 60th Anniversary of the Games peaked with record numbers entering in all piping events. Wilson won the Gold Clasp (for former winners of the Gold Medal) on the Friday evening, with Switalla the runner up. Switalla also won most points A Grade throughout the weekend. The Gold Clasp field was the largest in many years. (more…)
