Andy Rewick, Pipe Major of the world-renowned Vale of Atholl Pipe Band, has resigned from the leading Grade 1 Band due to a reported work/life imbalance. In his place will be Adrian Cramb, current Pipe Sergeant of the Band, and a member since 1984.
Andy Rewick will stay playing with the band, the band reports.
The Vale of Atholl Pipe Band had a disapointing start to the season, with a disqualification at the British Championships. However, the band fought back to place 9th at the World Pipe Band Championships, and came runner-up in the qualifier.
A popular choice, Adrian has been with the Vale since starting the pipes. He first competed with the band in Santa Rosa in 1984 at the tender age of 14. Adrian is a Vale stalwart, having played with the band in Grade 1 all through the Ian Duncan era, subsequently becoming Pipe Sergeant after the appointment of Andy Renwick as Pipe Major.
