It is with great sadness PBNews announces the unfortunate passing of Bob Irvine, a stalwart of the piping scene, and an inspiration to many pipers. Bob passed away on Sunday 20th September, surrounded by family. Bob contributed heavily to the development of piping, especially in the Manawatu/Lower North Island area. He was also, according to Chris Stevens, one of the most enthusiastic contributors to the New Zealand Pipeband magazine regional reports section.

His enthusiasm and drive will be sorely missed, and the thoughts of everyone in the piping community are with Bob Irvine’s family.

Funeral details to come shortly.
