Bronze Medal adopted for Hastings 2013

Comunn na Piobaireachd have today released the set tunes for 2013, which includes the inclusion of a Bronze Medal for pipers ‘C’ grade and below. This adds to the already impressive array of medals available at the Hastings Highland Games contest.

CNP Music Secretary Greg Wilson noted in the list that Bronze Medal competitors are to submit 2 tunes of their own choice, one of which they will be required to play. This is a step up on tune expectations for C Grade competitiors around the country – the usual requirement being maximised at one full tune.  Wilson also notes entry to the Bronze Medal competition is restricted to pipers with a Piping and Dancing  Association ‘C’ Grade or lower, and a competitor entered for the Bronze Medal cannot play up in the Silver Medal.

The lists – including the Bronze Medal particulars – are attached here.
