St Laurence O’Toole (Eire) won the 2010 World Pipe Band Championships, being the first band to break the top position for the first time since 1998.
St Laurence took both events.
Field Marshal Montgomery were second, and it was announced Boghall and Bathgate were third. It ended up being recalled and re announced with Simon Fraser University being fourth. Shotts and Dykehead finished up fifth, and Scottish Power rounded out the top 6.
Strathclyde Police finish 7th, Fife Constabulary 8th, Inveraray 9th, and the 78th Frasers 10th.
Auckland and District finished 14th overall.
In the qualifier, Canterbury Caledonian failed to make it through, securing a 13th place finish.
“I haven’t got anything prepared, because I never thought this[winning the worlds] was possible”, Terry Tully said.
“The band has been very good over this season, and last season”
St Laurence O’Toole broke the top three for the first time last year, after an 11 year moratorium on the top three.
