Greg Wilson won the A/Open Overall prize at the annual Waipu Highland Games; the first major solo contest of the year, held on the second of January. Greg won the Piobaireachd, and was second in the March, Strathspey and Reel, and MSR events. Martin Frewen won the Open 2/4 March and MSR, and Liam Kernaghan won the A Grade Strathspey and Reel and A Grade Hornpipe and Jig.
